My deepwater drilling platform entered the international mainstream market in batches

2014/12/10

The deepwater semi-submersible drilling platform "Xingwang" was delivered on the 19th in Yantai, Shandong, which indicates that China has the standardization and mass construction capabilities in the field of marine engineering mainstream products, and China's deepwater drilling platforms have entered the international mainstream market in batches.

"Xingwang" is the sixth-generation deepwater semi-submersible drilling platform with the highest comprehensive performance in the world. The maximum working water depth is 1500 meters, the maximum drilling depth is 7600 meters, the model length is 104.5 meters, the model width is 70.5 meters, and the model height is 37.55 meters. 130 people, variable deck load is 5000 tons, suitable for 90% of the world's seas. "Xingwang" adopts the latest global marine engineering design concept, is led by one of the core units of "Deep Sea Engineering and High-tech Ship Collaborative Innovation Center", CIMC Raffles Offshore Engineering Co., Ltd., and participates in research by universities and research institutes such as Harbin Engineering University Global resource integration system.

According to Yu Ya, President of CIMC Raffles, the platform took 35 months from signing to delivery, and only 28 months from start to delivery. It is the shortest construction period in the industry's newly built deepwater semi-submersible drilling platform since 2009 It is 10 months shorter than the construction period of the same semi-submersible drilling platform built by the Korean shipyard during the same period.
